Snow Plowing & Ice Management

Commercial and residential

Snow removal for commercial properties

When snow falls overnight, customers, tenants, and employees still expect a clear lot and safe sidewalks in the morning. ZGreen Landscape provides snow plowing and ice management for businesses and property managers in Elgin and nearby Fox Valley communities. Clear walks and lots aren’t only about appearances; a slippery entrance is a real worry for any business, and a consistent plan helps you stay ahead of it.

Commercial service covers plowing parking lots and drive lanes, clearing sidewalks and entrances, and salting walks and lots to cut down on ice. Entrances and main drive lanes come first, and snow gets piled where it won’t block parking spaces, sight lines at exits, or drains as it melts. Timing, trigger depth, and exactly which areas are included are spelled out in writing before the season starts, so nobody is guessing when the first storm hits.

It's all in the plan

Seasonal contracts or per-push service

There are two common ways to pay for snow removal. A seasonal contract sets a price for the winter no matter how much it snows, which makes budgeting simple. Per-push or per-visit pricing charges each time a crew comes out, which can cost less in a light winter and more in a heavy one.

Whichever you choose, a good agreement should spell out the snow depth that triggers service, whether sidewalks and steps are included, when salting happens, and how long or back-to-back storms are handled. Some properties also want set hours for plowing or a limit on visits. We’ll walk you through options and help you pick what fits your property.

Homes and HOAs

Residential driveways and walks

Nobody wants to shovel the driveway at 6 AM before work. ZGreen Landscape plows residential driveways and clears front walks and steps for homeowners in Elgin and nearby towns, so you can get out in the morning and visitors have a safe path to the door. Our crew plows with care near pavers, lawn edges, and lighting fixtures so spring doesn’t start with repairs.

We also work with homeowners associations and small commercial properties that need shared drives, walks, and mailbox areas cleared. For an HOA, a written plan covering which areas are included, the trigger depth, and salting makes it easy for the board to answer residents’ questions. Ask us about seasonal options for your driveway or community.

Ice management

Salt smart, protect your property

Plowing clears snow, but ice is what causes falls. Ice management means salting walks and lots after plowing and pre-treating surfaces ahead of a storm when conditions call for it, so ice has a harder time bonding. Freezing rain and overnight refreeze are common here, so follow-up salting matters.

Salt has a cost, too. Too much can damage concrete, stain pavers, and burn lawn edges and plantings along drives and walks. We apply what’s needed instead of dumping it on and keep it off beds where we can. If you have a paver driveway or walk, paver sealing helps protect the surface through winter.
